I’m Marie-Christine Skrutkowska

A qualified lawyer and experienced translator working with law firms, solicitors and global corporations to ensure clear communication and bolster their hard-earned reputations. I no longer practice law, choosing instead to draw on my in-depth knowledge and industry background to provide premium translations, manage multilingual projects and create specialised translation teams for quality-focused clients.

Multicultural background

Born in Sweden to a Polish father, I went to school and university in the UK, before moving to Poland in the 1990s. I am bilingual in Swedish and English, a fluent French speaker and proficient in Polish, Russian and Serbian.

Qualified lawyer

I started out editing and translating documents in a US law firm, and eventually qualified as a solicitor. I worked in the City of London as an Associate in the Corporate and Finance Team of a global law firm for five years.

Experienced legal translator

After leaving the legal profession in 2005, I switched my focus to helping clients communicate across global markets with legal accuracy and cultural sensitivity, going on to set up Sleipner Legal Translations in 2013.
